Why did we choose SkinPen?
SkinPen is a medically graded FDA and Health Canada approved device that has been rigorously tested for safety. The device is laboratory tested and validated, passing over 90 validation tests to be nano sealed, meaning there is zero risk of cross-contamination. Each needle cartridge is individually packaged and has a single use design . Once it has been taken off, it can not be used again.

What is microneedling?
Microneedling, also referred to as "Derma-Needling" or "Collagen Induction Therapy" is a procedure performed in a minimally-invasive and precise manner with the use of a single use sterile needle head. It has been praised for its wide range of applications with incredible results including the reduction of: fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, scaring, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks with little to no recovery time. Microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin which stimulates the body's natural wound healing response to trigger new collagen synthesis. The result is smoother, younger-looking skin. The procedure is normally completed within 30–60 minutes, depending on the required procedure and anatomical site.

What happens during the treatment?
After cleansing and consultation, topical numbing cream containing 5% lidocaine is applied to the treatment area. Once the numbing cream is removed the treatment can begin. A layer of Skinfuse Lift HG is applied to the treatment area to protect the skin against abrasion and friction of the SkinPen Precision device during treatment. Then, based on treatment concern, a depth on the microneedle cartridge is selected to begin treatment. As the SkinPen Precision glides over the skin, micro-channels are created on the skin's surface. Once the session has ended, after care products and instructions will be provided to guide you in your post treatment care.

How often can I do SkinPen?
SkinPen can be done every 4-6 weeks. Multiple sessions can be necessary to obtain your desired outcome. We recommend an initial treatment series of three for most individuals, however this will be discussed at your first appointment to determine your goals.

When can I expect to see results?
Results can be noticed in as little as your first session! This treatment provides results that last for weeks and months. The long-term results are ongoing as your own natural collagen is stimulated. This being said, results vary among individuals as well as taking into account external factors, such as your post treatment care. For best results, a consistent skincare routine is strongly recommended alongside the in-clinic treatment.

How long is a treatment and does it hurt?
The procedure typically takes about 60 minutes total; 30 minutes for the anesthetic to set in, 30 minutes for treatment. The needles in a microneedling device are thinner than a strand of hair! Between this and the topical numbing agent applied to the skin prior to the treatment, it allows for the most comfortable experience possible.

What you can expect post treatment?
After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance, like a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on certain areas. This will diminish significantly within a few hours following the procedure. Within the next 24 hours, the skin will often appear to have returned to normal. After three days, there is rarely evidence that the procedure has taken place.
